Hubballi Airport is a domestic airport that serves the cities of Hubli and Dharwad, which are next to each other. It is 20 km from Dharwad and closer to the NH4 bypass highway. The other airport is the Sambre Airport in Belgaum, which is about 78 kilometres from Dharwad.

Hubballi Airport was recently made better so that it can also handle international flights. The Dharwad railway station is a major stop for trains in the South Western Railway zone of Indian Railways. It is part of the Hubli railway division. Dharwad railway station is connected to Hubballi, Belgaum, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Gadag, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Solapur, Bellary, Davangere, Delhi, Visakhapatnam Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Vijayawada, Mysore and Tirupati.

Hubli junction is the next-closest station that can be used as an alternative. Hubli Junction is the centre of public and business transportation in Karnataka. It is 460 kilometres (290 miles) northwest of Mumbai, 160 kilometres (99 miles) west of Goa, 410 kilometres (250 miles) south of Bangalore, and 450 kilometres (280 miles) east of Hyderabad. After Bangalore City, it is the busiest train station in Karnataka.


By Road

The Dharwad Bus Stand is right in the middle of the city. It can be reached by bus from a lot of the districts.

From Bangalore, the trip takes about 6 hours by car (410 kilometres). From Mumbai, it is a little more than 580 kilometres, and from Pune, it is more than 430 kilometres. From Bangalore to Dharwad and Mumbai to Hubli, there are a lot of private buses. State transport is run by N.W.K.R.T.C, which has a divisional head in hubli. It runs buses between cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Goa, and Chennai.
