Esteemed Delegates to the ICWMCC2023 at WALMI, Dharwad India (24-25 Jan 2023):

Greetings,
We have sent a formal invitation to all of you to attend the International Conference of Water Management and Climate Change organized by WALMI Dharwad under the Water Resources Department of Government of Karnataka, INDIA. The basic objective of this conference is to seriously deliberate on the implications of climate change on water management and solutions. We would like to make the event more practical and policy oriented than the usual routine periodic academic exercises.

People with serious concern and rich experience have been invited to this conference. These include global water and climate change academicians, researchers, senior Government officials, field level civil society and environmental workers and farmers. Each one of you has put in about 20 to 30 years of experience in these fields in different ways and understands the complexities of these two problems of climate change and water management and their interrelatedness.

So we ask- what is the exact nature of the problem, how are they interrelated and how each one affects the other and their combined impact on other sectors of the nature, human beings and economies. We expect to pool in the rich experience and best expertise in you. We understand that two days is a short duration for such an ambitious task but as you all know extended periods are neither feasible nor desirable by the delegates. So the best way is to optimize on time and energy and deliberate meaningfully on water management and climate change, interrelations, impacts and policy inputs during the available time.

I request you to kindly share your valuable inputs – research findings, recommendations, good practices, success stories, case studies, short policy note through 1- 3 pages text, PPTs (10 slides) or any relevant material for the discussions. I request you to kindly take away some valuable time and arrange to send before Dec 31, 2022. Each contribution will receive due recognition and acknowledgement.
